The automotive industry is highly reliant on legacy software. This software eventually needs to be adapted and migrated to multi-core platforms to enable the vehicle manufacturers to add more functionalities, e.g., autonomous driving and active safety, without increasing system complexity to unacceptable levels. The AUTOSAR-compliant OS significantly deviates from the AUTOSAR standard, with respect to multi-core support. The most current strategies for multi-core migration can not be used without modifications, due to these deviations.
The Service oriented architecture (SOA) based Adaptive AUTOSAR platform is an essential step in both solving the paradoxes of today and enabling efficient design patterns of tomorrow for connected, smart, and autonomous road vehicles.
This white paper describes the migration process, which is an approach for multi-core migration, where the legacy program execution is preserved along with adapting and enabling the efficient patterns of tomorrow.
