Despite patient care being the common goal, siloed processes have created barriers between the physicians, hospitals, drug companies, and insurers. Owing to this, patients and payers are forced to pay more without receiving value from their spending.
The future of healthcare is in establishing sustainable communication between all parties to enable a democratic environment where healthcare delivery will streamline workflows, facilitate decision support to physicians, enhance the patient experience, reduce the number of hospital visits, optimize remote healthcare delivery, and ultimately improve health outcomes. This can be achieved by the integration of all health devices and apps so that the data can be efficiently collated, integrated, stored, managed, analyzed, and visualized.
To enable and achieve this, OEMs and healthcare providers are adopting integrated platforms. But, with the increasing complexity of healthcare devices, OEMs and healthcare organizations will need to further consolidate their capabilities to realize a collaborative ecosystem. This approach will allow health data accessibility across all stakeholders, beyond proprietary constraints and regulatory norms.
