Industrial laboratories for aerospace industry are becoming complex units with every passing day. The growing adoption of state-of-the-art equipment, sophisticated instruments, high speed data acquisition and communication software, and the need for more power to operate is adding to the complexity.
As a result, it now takes a significantly larger amount of time to train laboratory operators to ensure that the laboratory is optimally operational and functional.
Augmented Reality (AR) is helping address these challenges by helping streamline legacy training pathways and workflows.
This paper proposes an approach to digitalize the industrial laboratory training by utilizing an AR platform. It explains how training for operation, installation, assembly, repair, and maintenance of an industrial laboratory equipment can be created using AR platforms and virtual training can be provided to the end user.
